Is a blood warmer the same as a fluid warmer? They’re closely related but not identical. A blood warmer is specifically designed with tighter temperature control and safety systems for warming whole blood and blood products, which can be damaged or haemolysed if heated above 42°C. A fluid warmer is generally for warming standard IV solutions like saline or glucose.
